Frequently Asked Questions

This page answers the questions we hear most often from business owners in Birmingham who are considering lead generation support. Since 2016, Hineli has worked with companies across 9 districts of the city, and over that time certain questions come up again and again — about pricing, process, data, and what actually counts as a lead. Below we have organised the answers into four groups so you can find what you need without reading the whole page.

Understanding the service

Lead generation means identifying people or businesses who have shown interest in what you sell and passing that interest to you as a contact you can follow up on. Hineli builds this through a mix of targeted online campaigns, landing pages, and enquiry forms tailored to your sector. We currently offer 14 distinct services covering different channels and industries, from local trade businesses to professional services. Each lead is checked against basic criteria — a working phone number or email, a genuine enquiry, and relevance to your stated service area — before it reaches you.

No. A purchased list is a static set of names with no recent interaction with your business. What we produce is different: each lead has taken an action — filled a form, requested a callback, or responded to an advert — within a short window before you receive it. This distinction matters because a list contact might not remember expressing any interest, while a generated lead is actively expecting to hear from a business like yours. We do not resell or share contact data between clients.

Over ten years we have worked with tradespeople, home improvement firms, professional service providers, and local retailers across Birmingham, among others. Our 14-person team includes specialists who understand the buying patterns particular to different sectors — a kitchen fitter's customer journey looks quite different from that of an accountant, for example. Before starting any campaign we discuss your specific market, typical customer, and service area so the approach matches how your buyers actually search and enquire.

Our core focus is Birmingham and the surrounding districts, and we currently cover 9 areas across the city. This local focus lets us understand travel times, seasonal demand patterns, and which neighbourhoods tend to search for which services. If your business operates slightly beyond these areas, mention this during your first conversation with us and we will confirm whether we can support that particular location before any campaign begins.

Pricing and commitment

Pricing depends on the service selected, the volume of leads expected each month, and the complexity of the sector you operate in. Some clients prefer a fixed monthly package covering a set number of enquiries, while others choose a pay-per-lead structure. We provide a written quote in pounds sterling after an initial discussion about your goals, so there is no ambiguity about what you are paying for before work begins.

We do not require long lock-in periods. Most clients start with a trial period of one to three months to see how lead flow and quality suit their business before committing further. Of the 1,680 clients we have served since 2016, around 460 have returned for a second project, which suggests that clients tend to stay when the arrangement works for them rather than because of contractual obligation.

Tell us as soon as possible. We review the specific leads in question against the criteria agreed at the start — location, service type, and contact validity — and adjust the campaign settings accordingly. Sometimes the issue is a targeting setting that needs narrowing; other times it is a landing page question that is attracting the wrong audience. We treat this as an ongoing conversation rather than a one-off setup.

Yes. Business needs change — a slow season, a staffing gap, or a shift in priorities can all be reasons to pause. Give us notice according to the terms in your agreement and we will pause or wind down the campaign in an orderly way rather than stopping abruptly, which helps avoid wasted ad spend or half-finished landing pages.

Data, process and communication

Our typical reply time to new enquiries is around 3 hours during business hours, which run Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday, so enquiries submitted over the weekend are usually answered the following Monday. If a request comes in close to closing time, we prioritise it first thing the next working day.

This depends on the channel and your sector, but many campaigns start producing enquiries within the first one to two weeks of going live, once initial testing has identified which messages and audiences respond best. Early results are used to adjust targeting, and lead flow usually becomes more consistent after the first month as the campaign settles.

Contact details collected through forms and landing pages are stored securely and used only to pass enquiries to the relevant client business. We do not sell contact data to third parties or reuse it for unrelated campaigns. Full details on how information is collected, stored, and deleted are set out in our privacy policy, which we recommend reading alongside this page.

Yes. Depending on the service package, you will receive regular reporting covering number of leads generated, the districts they came from, and any changes made to targeting. Clients running larger campaigns tend to have a short check-in call, while smaller packages are usually managed through email summaries. The format is agreed at the outset so there are no surprises later.

We ask for basic details about your services, the districts you cover, your typical customer, and any existing marketing materials such as a logo or photos. If you already have a website, we review it to understand how it currently converts visitors. None of this needs to be perfect before we start — part of the early conversation is figuring out what is missing and filling those gaps together.

Working with a small, established team

Hineli is a team of 14 people, and campaigns are usually handled by two or three specialists — one focused on the technical setup of adverts and tracking, another on the landing page and messaging, and a point of contact who manages communication with you. This means you are not passed between a large number of different people, and the person you speak to understands the details of your specific campaign.

Since founding in 2016, we have served 1,680 clients and completed 2,140 individual jobs across the 14 services we offer. That works out at roughly 168 clients per year on average, though the mix shifts depending on the season and which sectors are more active at a given time. Some clients commission a single short campaign; others return for multiple projects, which accounts for the gap between total clients and total completed jobs.

Yes, a selection of past projects is available on our portfolio page, showing the type of businesses we have supported and the approach taken for each. We do not publish confidential figures for individual clients without permission, but the portfolio gives a fair picture of the range of sectors and campaign styles we have delivered across Birmingham over the years.
